Russell to be inducted into the Jamaica Cup Hall of Fame

JAMAICA'S Richard Russell is to be inducted into the Jamaica Cup Hall of Fame today at Half Moon Resort Hotel in St James, Montego Bay, beginning at 6:00 pm.

This will be the fifth staging of the annual Jamaica Cup Tennis Tournament for juniors and seniors competing in singles and doubles, which is one of the events in the annual Caribbean Cup Tennis Series played each year.

Russell is also a former Jamaica number one singles player who has defeated some of the world's top players, including the great American Arthur Ashe in Jamaica.

The former Jamaica, world-ranked professional player will be inducted into the Jamaica Cup Hall of Fame for his outstanding contribution to the development of the sport of tennis in Jamaica for many years.
